[스포츠경향] 순수 배터리 전기차(BEV) 수요가 늘면서 올해 전기차(EV)를 계약한 예비 차주들 사이에서 ‘내년도 전기차 보조금 축소 가능성’에 대한 우려가 잇따르고 있다.특히 계약 시점이 아닌 차량 인도 시기에 따라 전기차 보조금이 책정되는 현 정부 지원 정책에 따라 일부 인기 모델들의 경우엔 내년 상반기 즈음 차량을 받는다면 ‘같은차, 다른 차값’ 논란이 벌어질 수도 있다는 지적들이 나온다. 기아 EV6. 순수 배터리 전기차 모델로, 국내외에서 글로벌 상품성 호평이 이어지고 있는 EV 중 하나다.현재 정부와 지자체 모두 ‘전기차 구매 보조금’은 계속 줄고 있는 추세. 특히 정부 정책은 점차 ‘보조금 축소 운영’쪽으로 기울어질 전망이다. 30일 완성차 딜러 업계에 따르면 이러한 ‘보조금 축소 가능성’은 내년에도 배제할 수 없는 상황. 따라서 차량 출고 시점에 따라 보조금이 깎이면 소비자 부담금은 ‘계약 시점’보다 늘 수도 있다.예컨대 현행 전기차 보조금 100% 지급 기준인 ‘6000만원’ 커트라인이 내년엔 ‘5500만원’으로 내려가면 현대차 아이오닉5이나 기아 EV6(4630만~5980만원) 등 인기 모델들은 자칫 커트라인에 걸릴 수도 있는 처지다. 이에 국내외 완성차 업계에서는 옵션이나 주행 편의 기능을 도려내면서까지 차값을 낮출려는 움직임도 나오고 있다.정부도 현재 고민을 거듭하고 있다. 현재 정부는 6000만원 미만 차량엔 보조금 전액을, 6000만~9000만원 모델엔 ‘절반’, 9000만원을 넘기면 아예 보조금을 주지 않고 있다. 이에 커트라인 언저리의 차량 구매자들 사이에서 내년에 차를 인도 받을때 예외적으로 보조금을 ‘올해 정책’으로 반영해야 한다는 여론이 잇따르는 상황이다. ‘예산은 거의 바닥인데 내년 계약 건까지 챙겨달라’는 요구가 지속적으로 끊이지 않고 있는 것이다. .하지만 정부는 ‘내년 출고 받는 전기차는, 내년 정책에 따른다’는 기존 입장을 고수하고 있다.이에 대해, 완성차 업계 관계자는 “여러 가능성을 계약서에 명시해야 하는데, 현재 혼란만 가중되고 있다”고 우려하며 “이제는 상황을 알리고 정리돼야 하는 시점”이라고 말했다. 이어 “정부가 국고 보조금 예산을 크게 늘려 주는 것이 해법”이라며 “이대로 가면 국내 전기차 판매량은 큰 전환 앞에서 무너질 수도 있어 계약 소비자들에게 세심한 조정과 배려가 필요한 시점”이라고 말했다.한편 더불어민주당 이재명 대선후보는 최근 전기차 보조금 대상을 대폭 늘리겠다는 취지로 ‘자동차 회사에 생산량 증대를 유도하겠다’고 언급했다. 그러면서 이 후보는 자신의 페이스북에 “정부가 차량가격을 보조하기 위해 보조금을 지급하지만, 대기 전기차 수요보다는 늘 턱없이 부족했다”며 “약 362만대의 전기차가 필요하다”고 시장내 전기차 보급 증대를 강조했다.손재철 기자 son@kyunghyang.com
